I took a lot away from this article. I find it very interesting that this “cloud” is can be used to save things. However, as interesting as I believe it is, I don’t think that it is the best idea. Yes, it is nice that it won’t take up so much room on your tablet, laptop, etc. however, I prefer to save something to a hard drive that I can see visibly as to something just out there in cyber space. Also, if what you have is out there in cyber space, wouldn’t it make it easier for someone to steal your files? And wouldn’t it make it easier for them to get lost? What I found most interesting from this article was that with this new form of technology we have the capability of creating a Wi-Fi network for an entire city. However, as most college students know, when too many people are using the same Wi-Fi the internet is much slower than when you have just two or three people using it. As much as I would love to have free Wi-Fi, I would hate to share it with everyone in my town. I believe that this could be possible and they could fix all the problems with it but it would take years to accomplish it and since people are impatient, they probably wouldn’t wait for this all to be set and stoned. Also, giving Wi-Fi to people will cause loss of business for internet service providers, therefore, causing more unemployment. In the end, although it all sounds like a good idea, I don’t believe that it is. I feel like this could end wrong or people just wouldn’t care for it. If all of this goes through I think that it will higher the rate of identity theft and possibly more.

Connected but Alone
Sherry Turckle's speech is all about how even though we stay connected we are still disconnected from eachother. Although this theory contradicts it self I completely agree. I believe through the internet and technology we are connected and brought together but at the same time while we are in person, it pulls apart. There have many times that I will be with a group of friends but instead of talking to eachother and socializing we are all on our phones texting, checking Facebook and so on. Many people, me included, use our phones to avoid confrontation with someone in person.

Staying Connected
The Internet has made it extremely easy to keep in touch with friends and family, while meeting other people. You can share videos, photos or just about anything to hundreds of people at the same time instead of sending to someone personally. As great as all of this is, it has also caused communication to become less personal. Since it is easy to stay connected through these sites and through other technology, it makes relationships slightly less interesting. The Internet can be used for everything, shopping, talking, watching tv, etc. I feel like this has also been a major factor that has made our generation lazier.

12 Things Students Shouldn't Do
The first thing students should never do on a social media site is post any illegal activities. For example, we all know that high schoolers like to party but that does not give them any reason to post pictures of themselves drinking underage and disobeying the law. A huge issue a few years back was teens getting into fights and someone posting a video of it online. With the video's police were able to find the kids and they would end up getting in big trouble.
The second thing is bullying. Cyber bullying has become a huge issue with middle schoolers and high schoolers. Every day around 13,000 students around the United States do not attend school because of bullies. Cyber bullying has gotten so bad it sometimes results in suicide. What the bullies do not realize is when they post something online it is extremely easy to use as proof and they could be expelled.
The thirding thing is trashing teachers. Teachers are much smarter than we believe and are active on Facebook too. How would you feel if you found two of your teachers on Facebook and saw them trashing you? Not good.
Fourth is post objectionable content from school computers or network. Your school wants to be represented well so if you are posting bad photos or saying while trying to represent them, not the best idea.
Fifth, posting confidential information. Once you put something on the Internet it's out there, there is no taking it back. So posting your phone number, address, etc. is not a good idea in any way shape or form. Also, you never know who is looking at that information and it could endanger you, your family or your friends.
Sixth, stop checking in to so many places. It is popular to check into where you are on Facebook to show everyone what you are doing. However, this is a bad idea. Posting where you are all the time gives anyone access to finding you.
Seventh, plagiarize. Plagiarizing is huge threat to students, if you're caught doing it once you can get into huge trouble. Sometimes even your school can get in trouble for it.
Eighth, threaten someone. If you "jokingly" threaten someone online it is hard to know because they will not know your tone of voice and could think your serious. Then they could take it to the school or police and you would end up in a lot of trouble.
Ninth, ignore school policies. Keep in mind that they are capable of seeing just about everything you do on there.
Tenth, posting things that are unprofessional. If you don't want your grandmother to see it, you definitely don't want an employer to see it. Employers often look into your online accounts to see the true story behind you.
Eleventh, don't rely on privacy settings. Just because it says it's private doesn't mean that some creep out there doesn't know how to hack into it. Don't trust it.
Twelfth, emotional posting. We all say things that we don't mean but online, try to control yourself, you never know who could be looking.
